The Weekend

Anotha weekend has been and Mum (well, maybe I should call her my owner) was busy again.  She cleaned up the house, did laundry and played the piano.  I like the sound of it; it's so pretty. She also gave me lots of cuddles and let me fly around; I love flying.
My owner threw out lots of things that have been sitting around the place.  She never used them but she threw them out with last week's paper.  She took photos of plants outside and brought a plant home and potted it.
We have been tidying up the house for a few days now.  It looks better.  I looked okay the way it was, but I guess it's because I'm just a bird.

Anotha Cold One

Mum came out this morning and lifted my covers to tell me that it was going to be a dull ol' day.  Me?  I still had my head stuck in my feathers and was on my swing.  She saw the bad look on my face and changed my food over before getting the bin in.  Then, she washed up and made breakfast; but I didn't want to get out of bed.
Before she rushed to go out, she gave me cuddle; but I wasn't too nice to her.  I nibbled on her hand twice, and she thought it was cute.  But after she put me back inside the cage, I jumpt back on my swing.

She's been out all day now; and I've had the house to myself.  How goods that?  I don't know where she went to, but I'm glad she left the curtain pull and my covers on.  It's been really cold.

Overnight Stay

Mum packed her bag yesterday.  Then, she packed all my stuff.  Then, her Dad came and we went to his place.  Yep, we stayed over somewhere els!  It was fun.
To make it more fun, Jay the dog came to stay too.  Gabe and Kat were going to a party and Jay stayed with Mum and me.  We watched 'Wolverine' and had the house to ourselfs.
This morning, I'vebeen put outside in the sun and everyone's talked to me.  Jay likes me and keeps looking at me. I'm happy we went somewhere together after a week of being on my own for a long time.  My Mum's the best.

All On My Own

I've had a lot of time on my own this week. On Wednesday
Mum went to the shop and came home in an orange car where the driver helped her with all her bags and she paid him.  While she was away, the radio was off but the birds outside sang.  Mum had left the window open because the day was hot and there was a nice wind.
She wasn't home for long. Mum went out early with her Mum until late.  The sun had gone down and she we to see a movie for free in the city called 'Solt'.
This morning, she took a long time to check the mail.  Came home to say it was wet and cold outside and she had visited some friends where they chatted.  I didn't mind. I was all snuggled on my swing because Mum had left the curtin pulled.
Now, Mum is on the computer hanging out there for the day. Tomorrow night we both going out for an overnight stay!  How exciting!

Another Day More Birdseed

Being a budgie is okay I guess; I can't compare it to anything
else because I haven't been anywhere besides here.  Every afternoon, when the sun goes away from my front window, Mum pulls the curtain and I jump on my swing.  Then, she closes up the whole house.  Usually, the radios been on all day and she turns that off and puts on the news; and then MASH comes on.
My days are of me talking to the birdie in the mirror, ringing the bells in my cage, eating seed and millet and chewing up newspaper.  Otherwise, Mum gives me lots of tickles under my left wing and lets me fly around.
Yep, another day, two more scoops of birdseed.

Did It!

My old swing is back where it I want it!  Mum bought me a new one with hooks on it and itwas all wood.  But then, I spent the whole day on Wednesday chewing it up and unhooking it and Mum found it when she came downstairs.  Boy, was she mad.

But I got my old metal swing back.  Now, she has to look for the swing I like.

Isn't that cool?

Cold Day

Some days I'm really grateful Mum is so nice to me. This morning she pulled up the covers really gentle and said hello, then put them back down to go and get the bin.  It was cold outside you see and she didn't want me to get any cold wind on me. When she came back inside she pulled the covers back a little so the front of my cage was showing and the back and sides were still covered up. Then, she took out my food tray and changed my seed over and had a chat with me as she took out my millet to make me eat my bird seed.

Mum always feeds me before she makes herself anything to eat.
She washed up a bit and made breakfast then.  The day has been dull all since it started.  I'm happy she's left my covers on.  i'm all toastie in here... but she's upstairs all day.  I know she's thinking of me and can hear me sing.

It's a lazy day for both of us.  She is still wearing her slippers and hasn't unlocked the doors.  I think she'll stay home tomorrow too.

A New Swing!

I have a new swing.  You would think this was a good thing.  But you see Mum has bought two swings and has had to put the old one back in becasue the first one was too small.  And now, the second one is all wood and hangs by hooks.  She told me it's the only one she could find and has had to hang it on an angle; and it doesn't swing like the others.  But you know, I'm getting used to it.  If I chew at it long enough, it'll fall off the ceiling of the cage and she'll have to find the old one again and put it back in.

But this is just between you and me, okay?

It's Sunday

Mum opened the curtains today and the sun came in on me;
but I didn't want to get out of bed.  She's so good to me when I'm not very nice to her.  She grabbed my food tray and filled it with lovely seed and bland crunchy stuff out of the fridge and the put it back in saying the same thing she says every morning: 'The breakfast of champions.' before
walking away.  And all i do is give her a horrible look and want to stik my head back in my feathers.  Then, she goes out the back, puts on a load of washing and goes out to buy the paper before making some grey ugly stuff for herself; and I thought i ate badly.
Mum reads the newspaper on Sundays. She loves the comics and hung out laundry while she read too.  Tomorrow she will be doing more laundry too before going out with her Mum - another human who loves me a lot and calls me a brat (but she doesn't mean it).
Today, I found out why Mums going out.  She pulled over a box full of stuff and took it all out, counting three of everything except the big orange vests and paint.  She took photos and I watched on.  Mum looked really excited about it all and put it back in the box to see if she could do it without the lid falling off; and she did!  I can't wait until I get to see the photos of what she's done.
Well, the sun is going away from my cage now and it's begining to get cold again.  So, I better screech to get her attention so she can pull the front green curtain to keep me warm.

This afternoon

It's late and I'm about to go to bed, but I did try to get on here earlier but the net was down.  Mum tried really hard to get it back on, but it didn't work.  She said not to worry, the people who make it work will get it going soon.  And now, it's really late, it's working... just.

Well, today, Mum turned on the television and the Hawks were playing another team wearing red and white called the Swans; who were beating them.  So, she turned it off and played tha piano (I found out what it was called) and she's getting better at it.  The front door was open today and the house felt warmed up.
After that she put the radio on again and sat outside to read; but not for long because when she came back in and patted me, her hands were cold, so was her nose.  So, she had a shower. That's when she found out the net was down.

Well. Tonight, there wasn't much on television, so we watched a favourite vampire series she just got off layby with a hot Australian in it; Alex somebody.  It was really good.  And now, we're off to bed because it's getting really cold now.

My First Scratchings

Picking amongst the seed the other day, I wondered what my owner does when she's upstairs.  She assures me that - while I'm listening to the classic station, taking in the sun at the front window and watching the day go by - she is thinking of me.  But really, Idon't know what she does in that room where there are so many books.

My name is Little Miss Stevie.  I was bought at pet shop a little over five years ago and I have been at her house ever since.  Mum has been wonderful to me; teaching me things, showing me that she would never hurt me on purpos and knowing when I need a cuddle.
But then, there are times when she needs one too; and I'm just fluffly enough to do that for her, even tho I'm really small, she enjoys our time in the afternoons.  And I really do like her playing that big brown thing near the stairs no matter how bad she thinks she is.
My feet are sore from playing on this letter board so much. I must go and eat a little millet and see where she is now... it's time for another cuddle.
